Biographie

Cyrille Aimée (eigentlich Cyrille-Aimée Daudel, * 10. August 1984 in Fontainebleau, Frankreich) ist eine französische, in den USA lebende Jazzsängerin.

Cyrille Aimée hat französische und dominikanische Eltern. Sie studierte bis 2009 an der State University of New York at Purchase bei Pete Malinverni, Jon Faddis und Jimmy Greene. 2007 gewann sie sowohl den ersten Preis als auch den Publikumspreis beim Montreux Jazz Festival. 2008 nahm sie in der Schweiz ihr Debütalbum auf, Cyrille Aimée & the Surreal Band, gefolgt von Smile, das sie mit dem brasilianischen Gitarristen Diego Figueiredo einspielte. 2010 war Cyrille Aimée Siegerin des Sarah Vaughan International Jazz Vocal Competition in Newark (New Jersey). Mit Gastmusikern wie Roy Hargrove und Joel Frahm nahm sie das 2011 erschienene Album Live at Smalls auf. 2012 wirkte sie beim Album Junction des Hot Club of Detroit (u. a. mit Jon Irabagon) mit.

2015 gewann Cyrille Aimée in den Down Beat Kritiker-Polls in der Rising Star Kategorie. The Wall Street Journal nannte Aimée “one of the most promising jazz singers of her generation.
